Haiti Volunteer Trip was born out of the Haiti Volunteer Program started by Colline Foundation. The program was created to help people from around the world who wanted to do more than just send a couple of dollars to Haiti. These people wanted to come to Haiti themselves and provide much needed aid after the earthquake. When the program was started, Colline Foundation was one of the only organizations that accepted applications from people from all walks of life. This was important, because many organizations only focused on bringing in doctors, construction workers or people with language capabilities. Our philosophy was that as long as an applicant has a strong desire to help, with a little training and some direction from professionals, they can be very effective. Our philosophy proved to be right.
At our program's inception, we received hundreds of applications and lead numerous groups of internationals into Haiti. Our program participants were well taken care of. Their lodging was excellent, safety was secured and they found all of the amenities available to them to be very like the amenities that they would find back home. Now our program has matured into Haiti Volunteer Trip. Haiti Volunteer Trip differentiates itself from other programs because it allows for groups to use our logistics capabilities to facilitate their trips to Haiti. A group can create their own itinerary or have their own agenda and use Haiti Volunteer Trip to secure everything from transportation to security to lodging for their group.
