Greetings,
After the earthquake in Haiti, I have received a large amount of requests from people in all parts of the world to somehow find out if I can get them into the country to volunteer. There was a problem though. With many of the structures and government institutions in Haiti in ruins, security is questionable and food and water is scarce. There was no way people would be able to go to Haiti and ensure their own safety and health.
Colline Foundation's executive director and I came up with an idea after a lot of our friends kept telling us that they wished they could go to Haiti to help instead of just giving their money to large organizations that sort of act like black hole for funds. So, what my associate and I did was we secured use of a very large estate near the airport in Tabarre, Haiti. We will have maids, a cook, a driver and security to facilitate the stay of people who want to go down to Haiti and volunteer. This idea is catching on like wildfire.
Now, people who want to visit Haiti and volunteer whether in the fields of construction, health or childcare can do so through Colline Foundation. Every week from June to August, we will be able to facilitate a new group of 50 volunteers for a 5 day stay (Monday to Friday). Volunteers will have food, shelter, water, transportation, electricity and internet access. We will also have partner NGOs that our volunteers can choose from when they are on the ground. Feel free to browse our website to learn more information. Space is filling up fast, because there is a huge demand for safe structures like ours in Haiti. As long as volunteers can cover the costs of the staff working helping to facilitate their stay, and get to Haiti independently, they will have a safe and secure place to stay and work from.
Cordially,
